Lee Ho-seok better known as Wonho (원호) is a South Korean singer under Starship Entertainment.
He is the visual of the boy group MONSTA X and a member of the project group, Y TEEN.
Prior to his debut with MONSTA X Wonho's past is pretty vague. We know he was part of the Ulzzang gang (A South Korean term literally meaning "best face" or "good-looking").
Prior to his debut with Monsta X, Wonho was part of a project group called Nu Boyz (along with #GUN, Shownu and Wonho) formed under Starship Entertainment in August 2014. The quartet uploaded multiple mixtapes to their company's YouTube channel and performed at the opening show of Starship X concert in December 2014.
In December 2014, Starship Entertainment and Mnet launched a competition program called No.Mercy and Wonho was selected along with six other participants were determined as part of Starship Entertainment's new boy group Monsta X on the last episode of the show.
On October 31, 2019 Starship Entertainment released a statement to the public stating that Wonho has officially stepped down from MONSTA X. Earlier there had been rumors of Wonho owing a large sum of money to another person.
On April 10, 2020 it was announced that Wonho had signed with Highline Entertainment and would be continuing his career solo, he is listed as a solo artist/producer.
On June 29, 2020 Wonho took to his vLive account to announce the new fandom name. From this point on the fans were officially called 위니 which in English is pronounced We-Nee.
